This latest full-length LP from Toronto’s catl. is their 5th release. The record represents the band in all their 2-piece glory. Primitive and rhythmically driving beats are the back bone for these dance-floor fillers that range from the love gone wrong, soul-saturated ‘Misunderstand’, to sing-a-long bangers like ‘Hot Baked Cornbread and Spice’. This is the stripped bare sound that their fans have been asking for. Guitar and drums, girl/boy vocals, with a side serving of harmonica, recall a simpler time when people believed in the ultimate rewards of drinking liquor, dancing, and getting’ dirty. Recorded in Memphis and Toronto, and mastered by Detroit’s garage rock wonderkind Jim Diamond, ‘Bide My Time Until I Die…’ is a collection of 9 original rockers with one gospel song, ‘Keys to the Kingdom’, tossed in to help all the Saturday night sinners repent and overcome their Sunday morning’s regrets.
